GROW UPWARDS

Hydroponic towers.
Compare the whole setup.

A low tower price can hide the cost of growing indoors. Put required lighting into the basket first, then compare the tower, its usable planting configuration and the space needed to care for it.

How to read this guide

We compare dated manufacturer information and show our calculations. We have not physically tested these systems. Merchant links are ordinary links; no affiliate account or paid ranking is implied.

The light-kit difference is real money.

Our Tower Garden HOME comparison uses a combined indoor setup: the $725 system plus the separately listed $325 LED kit, or $1,050 before delivery and tax. A system-only price is not an equivalent comparison with a garden that already includes lights.

This does not make the combined basket the right purchase for everyone. It makes the starting comparison more consistent. If you already own compatible lighting, enter your actual equipment quote in the calculator instead.

Thirty-two sites are not thirty-two equal crops.

Tower Garden describes HOME’s configuration as 16 full-size sites plus 16 baby-green or herb sites. We retain that distinction instead of treating all 32 as interchangeable with another model’s listed positions.

Even identical site counts do not establish identical output. Leaves can shade other plants, larger crops need room and your planting mix changes the result. We do not rank towers by cost per salad or claim a weekly harvest from capacity alone.

Measure the maintenance space, too.

Before ordering, mark the base on your floor and use the exact model’s assembly instructions to check total height. Leave room for mature foliage and the actions you will need to perform: adding water, reaching roots, lifting parts and cleaning the reservoir.

A tower beside a dining chair or cabinet may fit when empty but become awkward to tend. Ask where wet components will go during cleaning and whether you can reach an outlet without creating a trip hazard. Those are practical questions a small footprint alone cannot answer.

  • Check whether your selected version is indoor-ready or needs a light accessory.
  • Check the final configuration, rather than using an extension-kit maximum.
  • Check access to the tank, not only access to the front of the plants.

Use monthly energy, not lamp wattage alone.

A lamp’s watt rating does not tell us the pump schedule, dimming or daily runtime. We only prefill monthly electricity when a manufacturer publishes a model-specific estimate. Unknown tower figures stay blank.

You can enter a documented estimate or your own measurement. Multiply monthly kWh by your electricity rate and 12 for the annual allowance. Our estimates exclude an assumed food harvest and replacement hardware.

Sources and what remains unknown.

Product specifications and advertised prices were checked on October 17, 2026. Prices and packages can change. Monthly energy values are manufacturer estimates, not measurements by Indoor Garden Scout. Where facts are unknown, we leave them unknown.

Calculations are our own arithmetic from the stated inputs. Hypothetical examples are labelled and exclude unentered costs, time and harvest value. Check the exact order, current policies and care instructions before buying.
