What the plan can—and can’t—tell you.
This is a capacity-and-timing model. Each week it starts enough plants to cover your target at your assumed success rate, rounds up to whole plants, and allocates main-garden and nursery spaces to the overlapping batches. Harvest replaces a whole plant and frees its space for the next batch.
Example defaults use two nursery weeks and four main-garden weeks. The four-week finishing example is informed by University of Tennessee Extension’s small-scale hydroponic lettuce guide. Nursery time and 90% success are illustrative assumptions. Real times vary with cultivar, temperature, lighting, spacing and growing conditions.
Separate nursery space is additional capacity, not included in the main-garden spaces. This model does not cover perpetual leaf picking, mixed crops or shared-reservoir nutrient compatibility. It does not calculate grocery savings. Build a cost budget separately →
